I got two smiles from two men today. I don't make this stuff up.

One was the bus driver who drove me to work. I have pigtails on today, and when he opened the doors to let me enter onto the bus, he was half-grinning, half--smirking and said, "Love those braids." I thanked him, halfway befuddled.

The second man was exiting a building I walk by on my way to work. He was rather large with a red shirt on; I'm wearing rolled-up jeans to mid-calf, a button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to mid-bicep, and flat sandals with cloth straps that lace around the ankles. Nothing extraordinary. Nothing really showy. But the man exiting the building caught my eye, stopped, stared a bit, and grinned. "Love the way you walk," he said with a chuckle in his voice.

Both men looked older, mid-forties to mid-fifties. This seems different, as all the other strangers who've hit on me have been about my age, more or less. I couldn't tell if these cases were admiration, attraction, or a little bit of both.

I am happy they said something, though.
