I can see two mountains out the window. These are the strangest-looking mountains I have ever seen. Each one looks like some kid picked up some clay, played with it extensively, then loosely mashed all the shapes he created together and smashed it down on the earth's surface to play with something else. I could guess that they look vaguely volcanic, but that's just a guess. They're weird and unlike any mountains I've ever seen.

Also, the carpet in this airport is note-worthy. This is the first airport carpet I've seen that has airplanes on it. It's kinda cool, very Escher-esque. Not the most original thing I've ever seen, but I'm somewhat surprised that other airports haven't done something similar. The plane is an obvious motif for an airport, eh?
I'd like to eat at an original mom-and-pop restaurant while we're here in this new city. Not only will it give us a taste of the local cuisine, but it's almost guaranteed to be cheaper. It feels like there's no point in eating at a chain restaurant that I can eat at anywhere else in the world. But it doesn't look like this'll happen. I remember reading somewhere that most of those types of restaurants aren't very kid-friendly. They're concentrating on good-quality, adult portioned food. Kids' meals consist of stuff like macaroni and cheese and little pepperoni pizzas. And we've still got two kids in this family.

Maybe I can convince us to split into groups tomorrow night. I'll take my parents to that grill I had my eye on. Or to that place with the live Jazz; Dad was really eyeing that place.

[We ate at the Rainforest Cafe; a chain, but still quality food and meals for all age groups. We didn't end up eating anywhere else during that trip. Every time I commented about being hungry, everyone looked at me like I was crazy; I ended up eating a sandwich from the cooler or a sandwich from someone's leftover lunch. And one night, we had ice cream for dinner. After I'd eaten a sandwich.]
