A Snippet of Me

We're visiting my parents in August. I'm excited, despite the hellish heat. Just'In will get to mingle with them a little more. And it'll be the first time the whole family's been together in two years; we're starting to spread out. Mom and I are anticipating a family portrait. A lot has changed since the last time we took one. Everyone's grown up a little more. Hairstyles change. Just'In joined the family.

I just finished talking to Mom on the phone. She told me, "Bring clothes for the picture."

"Well, like what?" I asked. A dress? A certain colored outfit? My swimming suit?

"Bring a solid-colored shirt," she said.

Then she laughs. "Curtis (my little brother) just asked if you even have a plain-colored shirt."

Yeah, I do. Several, actually. His comment was just characteristic of the way I dress... It's just... well, you know.

Yes, she does have several solid-colored shirts. She just never wears a solid color shirt all by itself. It's usually accented... a lot... by other articles that are definitely not a solid color.
