I'm in the middle of moving. It's the easiest move ever, considering we're only moving across the complex to another apartment, but because it is a move, it's still hard. Here, the challenge is that the people who live in the apartment we want to move into are our friends. They've had a rough time of it, with 30-day notices and having to pay undue rent they don't think they should pay...
Thus our schedule is being held back because they're not moving out till the fourteenth. They plan on giving themselves that whole next week to clean, and then declare themselves officially moved out. The apartment complex should have that whole next week to paint and do their round of cleaning, which means we're scheduled to move out the week of April 29th. That's finals week, and to top it off, we're going on vacation on Saturday of that week.
All this wouldn't be so bad, but we just had a party at their apartment on Sunday and they haven't done one stitch of packing. We, on the other hand, are almost completely done packing because we didn't know when they'd be out and wanted to be ready.
I hope it all works out. There are so many things that could go wrong here. I just ran through the schedule with Just'In, and apparantly he wasn't paying attention when our friends told us when they were moving out. He's attentive now, and I think he realizes now the time crunch we're in. I just hope we retain our friendship with those friends of ours.
